Experience small things in a big way

Visit the Harz mountains completely in only one day? The miniature park "Kleiner Harz" makes this possible. In just a few minutes you can get from the Imperial Palace in Goslar to Halberstadt Cathedral and Wernigerode Castle. In Thale, the cable car rides up to the Hexentanzplatz (witches' dancing place), just like its real counterpart - surrounded by the impressive scenery of the Bode Valley.

The world's largest rose collection

Paradise lies in the southern Harz! The Europa-Rosarium houses the largest collection of roses in the world. 13 hectares of impressive botanical gardens offer visitors an unparalleled sea of scents and colours, a magical splendour of millions of rose blossoms surrounded by rare trees and shrubs.

It hisses, it steams, it stomps

The Harz mountains with their breathtaking natural landscape can be seen from afar and captivate visitors with myths and legends. As one of the region's biggest tourist attractions, the Harz narrow-gauge railways operate a unique network of tracks with a gauge of 1000 mm.

With around 50 native animal species

On the well paved, easy to walk paths of our herb park you can explore the variety of local and exotic herbs and spices. You will find information boards with names and interesting facts about the plants, and we have lovingly arranged countless varieties of sage, lavender, lemon balm, mint, thyme and hyssop in the so-called plant nurseries.

The Wild West in the middle of the Harz Mountains

Dive into the history of the Wild West. Experience, see and learn something in Germany's largest western town. Get an understanding of the settlement of America in our Old West Museum and sniff the prairie air of the Indians in our earth and long house.
